Introducing Pohutukawa Private Equity Funds  - an opportunity for New Zealanders to invest in a diversified portfolio of private businesses.

 

To enable retail investors to participate in the New Zealand private equity market, Craigs Investment Partners and Direct Capital have established the Pohutukawa Funds - Private Equity funds for New Zealand investors.  Pohutukawa includes:

·          Pohutukawa Private Equity Limited (Pohutukawa I) and 25 special purpose investment companies.  This initial offer successfully closed on 8 October 2004. 

·          Pohutukawa Private Equity II Limited (Pohutukawa II) and 25 special purpose investment companies. This initial offer successfully closed on 27 February 2009. 


Pohutukawa may invest in private companies on both sides of the Tasman and aims to provide investors with:

The Offer for Pohutukawa II successfully closed on the 27 February 2009 with $82.5 million raised, including $22.5 million in oversubscriptions, with approximately 1850 shareholders in the Initial Public Offering.   Read the press release here.

Pohutukawa I

 

The Offer for Pohutukawa I successfully closed on the 8 October 2004 with $53 million raised, including $13 million in oversubscriptions, with approximately 1750 shareholders in the Initial Public Offering.   You may be able to invest in Pohutukawa I on the secondary market.
